RECOVERY COACHING OVERVIEW

  • Moving from chaos to resilience: offer phone or online video individual and family life coaching focussed on building emotional, relational and daily living skills.

  • Offer consultation services to help you navigate through the overwhelming number of services available to find the resources that you and your loved one need to ensure long-term success and health.

  • Provide highly confidential phone or online video one-on-one client and family/workplace support services within a treatment setting and/or the client’s home and/or workplace, or community, or during regular visits and telephone checkups

  • Serve as Sober/Mental Health Coach, Sober/Mental Health Companion, Personal Recovery Assistant, Daily Mentor and Cheerleader

  • Partner with you as Family Support Specialist, Case Manager

  • Provide Recovery/Health/Mental Health Companionship and/or Coaching

  • Offer Safe Transport/Safe Passage while transitioning between home, treatment, and/or community setting

  • Provides on-going daily Monitoring to insure long term recovery.

The Focus:

  • Achieving any goals important to the individual

  • Working on goals of the family and/or workplace

  • Continuing the partnership until the client begins to take the lead in addressing their recovery/health needs.

  • Honoring values and making principle-based decisions

  • Creating a clear plan of action

  • Using current strengths to reach future goals

  • Providing ongoing contact and monitoring

The Coach serves as an accountability partner to help the person and family sustain their recovery and long-term health.

The Certified Coach helps the person access systems needed to support recovery such as benefits, health care, etc.

The Day-to-Day Work of the Recovery Coach Specialist, Client and Family:

 

  • Develop a Recovery Plan.

  • Help to initiate and sustain an individual/family in their recovery from substance use or addiction and/or mental or

  • physical health challenges.

  • Promote recovery by removing barriers and obstacles to recovery.

  • Serve as a personal guide and mentor for people seeking, or already in recovery or early behavior change.

  • Help individuals to find ways to stop using (abstinence), or reduce harm associated with addictive behaviors.

  • Help a client and family find resources for harm reduction, detox, treatment, family support and education, local or online support groups.

  • Help a client and family identify appropriate treatment professionals or placement for mental health issues or physical challenges such as early Alzheimer’s, amputation, acute psychotic break

  • Help a client’s create a change plan to recover on their own.

Recovery Coaches support positive change by helping anyone including persons coming home from treatment or the criminal justice system to avoid relapse, build community support for recovery, or work on life goals such as relationships, work, education etc.
